2010 Classes - TENTATIVE
There will be multible classes for the 2010 racing season.
NOTE: These rules are a "work-in-progress, and are by no means the final version.
Definition of "Street Legal" and "Modified".
"STREET". This class is for completely Street Legal Cars, legally registered and insured for the street. Cars will be running a standard "bracket" tree. Cars are NOT allowed to be trailered in; must be driven on and off the premises. No electronics. Tires limited to DOT tires. More limits to be added to tire rule.
"COMPETITION". This class is for cars that range from borderline street legal to all-out purpose-built race cars. For 2010 we will be allowing full race cars. Anything that can be run at a standard Drag Strip will be alowed to run at our 100 foot Drag events. Most cars will be "door slammers", but rails, altereds, gassers, etc. that are safe can run in this distance. Any safe modification allowed. FULLY FUNCTIONAL MUFFLERS MANDATORY ON ALL CARS! There will be a dB limit to be determined at a later date. Cars will be running under a standard "Bracket" tree. Slicks are permissable in this class. Electronics allowed.
Eliminators are as follows:
STREET ELIMINATOR: Cars must be completely street legal, Standard DOT tires only. Dial-in bracket racing. No electronics. Cars must be driven to the track! No trailer queens! Trailered cars will automatically go into "Comp" Eliminator.
COMPETITION ELIMINATOR: Basically, anything goes. All-out race cars and modified street cars. Dial-in bracket racing. Electronics allowed.
OUTLAW ELIMINATOR: Full bodied "Door Slammers". No Altereds, no rails. Anything goes, running "heads-up" under a 0.400 PRO tree. Electronics allowed.
OUTLAW 2.5 ELIMINATOR: Same "OUTLAW" but with a 2.50 second break-out rule.
NOSTALGIA ELIMINATOR: Racing like it was in the 60's and 70's. Old time Gassers, Altereds, Stock/Super Stocks, etc. Year cutoff, plus other rules in process... coming soon. Electronics not permitted.
"Jr. DRAGSTER". All cars will run together. Younger age groups may be mandated slower dial-in. All cars will run dial-in bracket.
"MOTORCYCLE". For street legal motorcycles. All will run against each other heads-up on a standard tree. Full protection from head to toe mandatory. This includes helmet (with shield or goggles), gloves, leather jacket (full leathers prefered), heavy duty pants. No open toe shoes, steel toe boots prefered
We will also be running a weekly "SHOOTOUT", for various cars and trucks, such as a "Mustang Shootout", or a "Street Rod" shootout. This will be in conjunction with the regular show each week.
We may also be doing an additional weekly event for the "STREET" eliminator called the "COFFEE RUN" or the "BEER RUN", in which cars will have to race with 4 people in the car (including the driver). More on this later as things develop.
SCHEDULE
A typical night at the drags will have the following schedule:
5pm - pits open for sign-in for the drags. Front gates open for the Cruise.
5:30 - 8:00 - test & tune for all drag cars .
8:00 - 8:30 - intermission.
8:30 - Eliminations start. On a regular night, there will be 8 "Eliminators".
Most nights the running order will be as listed below. Order that Eliminators are run are subject to change to fit a particular night's schedule. Suggestions welcome.
- COMPETITION ELIMINATOR
- STREET ELIMINATOR
- Jr. DRAGSTER
- SHOOTOUT OF THE NIGHT
- NOSTALGIA ELIMINATOR
- MOTORCYCLE
- OUTLAW 2.5 ELIMINATOR

ENTRY FEES
While subject to change, our plan is to charge a $20 entry fee. This entitles competitors to run one eliminator per race day. There may be an additional entry fee for those choosing to run additional "Eliminators". Examples ar as follows: Those that choose to run 2 or more Eliminators, or an Eliminator and an "Outlaw" Eliminator.
Cars eligible for a particular "Shootout" can also run one other eliminator at no extra charge. Example: On "Mustang Shootout" night, all Mustangs can run one of the Indexes during the regular portion of the show, then run in the Mustang Shootout at the end of the night.
SAFETY
We try to use the common sense approach to our operation. We require all competitors do the same. All HDRA officials have the last say as to whether a car is eliglble to run or not. We may miss things in these list of rules, so simply put, if a car looks unsafe to run, we won't allow it on the track. Period. Things that are supposed to be bolted and fastened tight (like batteries, seats, etc.) will be checked. Please be sensible.
1. Helmets and seat belts mandatory for ALL competitors. Four-point harness minimum mandatory for the following: Full tube chassis cars, purpose-built race cars such as Altereds and rails, cars that run 1.90 and faster in the 100 feet.
2. Wheels: No missing lug nuts permitted. All studs must extend past lug by at least one thread width.
3. Driveshaft loop highly recommended on cars that fall into "Modified" catagory.
4. Four point roll bar minimum mandatory for the following cars: Tube chassis cars, Altereds, Rails, cars that run 1.90 and faster, T-buckets and alike. Strongly suggested in all convertibles, as well as all highly modified cars.
5. More coming! Suggestions welcome!
